

Mike and his wife Karen moved to Bismarck in 1995 to build and start Bismarck Funeral Home and Crematory that opened in 1996. Since then the business has grown into one of the most successful funeral homes in the region. Mike has been very active in the Bismarck-Mandan Community. Among other areas of involvement, he is a past President of the Bismarck Kiwanis Club, a past member of the Cathedral Parish Council and a Little League baseball coach. He is also a graduate of the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber's Leadership Program. Mike was elected in 2007 to the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) Board of Directors. CANA is the authoritative voice in the field of cremation in the U.S. Mike is also an active member of the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team for Homeland Security, he was deployed to New Orleans for the first three weeks after Hurricane Katrina struck. Following that, Mike was named the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team's (DMORT) distinguished member of the year for Region 8 at the 2007 National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) Conference. In Nashville, TN. Mike was recognized for his role in assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and for setting up and conducting training for first responders in North and South Dakota.
Mike sits on the National Funeral Directors Associations Advocacy Council. The council develops and oversees federal public policy and political activities of NFDA. He is also a member of the Bismarck Crisis Team, Bismarck/Burleigh Public Health Pandemic/Influenza Coalition, and was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatves in 2008.

Gary McDaniel is an independent contractor and licensed funeral director. He specializes in assisting people in making pre-arrangements for their funeral or for those of a loved one.
Gary has been a licensed funeral director in North Dakota since 1960 and licensed mortuary science practitioner in Colorado since 1964. In the early 90s, Gary started specializing in pre-planning while living in northern Nevada. In 1996, Gary moved to North Dakota to be closer to his children. Shortly thereafter he began his affiliation as a pre-planning coordinator for the Lowen Group in Bismarck, Mandan, Dickinson and Garrison.
In 1999, Gary terminated his affiliation with the Lowen Group and began his work with Bismarck Funeral Home as a pre-planning coordinator.

Shawn Harrington joined Bismarck Funeral Home and Crematory in June of 2005. A North Dakota native, Shawn graduated from Wing High School in May of 2002. After high school he began working in a funeral home while going to Bismarck State College taking up pre-mortuary sciences and graduated from BSC in the summer of 2004. Following graduation Shawn and his wife Alison moved out to Portland, Oregon where he attended Mt. Hood Community College and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service in 2005. Shawn is a fully licensed funeral director by completing all state and national board examinations and is also a certified crematory operator by the Cremation Association of North America.
He has a wide variety of interests that include golfing, softball, basketball and spending time with his family and friends. Shawn’s family includes his wife Alison, his daughter, Megan, his son, Dawson, parents, Steve and Joey Harrington of Bismarck, one sister, Shainna (Clark) Haas, of Napoleon, one brother Jamie (Darielle) Harrington, of Groton, SD.

Doug Rode, a native of Jud, ND, has been a licensed funeral director since July of 2005.
Doug graduated from Kulm High School in 2001. He attended Valley City State University from 2001-2003. In May of 2004, he graduated from Kansas City Kansas Communty College with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in funeral service. Doug is also certified in eye enucleating by the North Dakota Lions Eye Bank.
Doug has been employed with the Bismarck Funeral Home and Crematory since August of 2008.
During his spare time, Doug enjoys hunting, fishing, playing Bismarck city league basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.
