Adelaide (Addie) Bertha Vig, of Bismarck, passed away on December 29, 2022 at the age of 95. Addie was born on January 21, 1927 in rural Sherwood, North Dakota to Alma and Paul Neubauer. Following graduation from Sherwood High School in 1945, Addie moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and was employed with Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She transferred to Hollywood, California before returning to Sherwood to marry Duane Vig on November 8, 1952. Addie and Duane lived in Sherwood and Mohall while raising their family.

In 1977, Addie was hired as a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was also employed as Director of Activities, and Director of Social Services at the time of her retirement in 1994. Addie and Duane moved to Bismarck in 2010, and Duane passed away in 2018 after celebrating 61 years of marriage together.

Addie was an avid and talented baker; her specialties were Christmas cookies, and the ever-famous Addie’s Buns. She loved to entertain, and nothing pleased her more than having a houseful of family for a full meal, always delicious and served piping hot. She was always the last to get to the table, still wearing her apron! Addie loved watching all kinds of sports, especially the Vikings and any NBA team.

Addie will be greatly missed by her sister, Bernice Arsenault; children: Joni (Vance) Magnuson, Mike (Tracy) Vig, and Lisa (Phil) Vig- Johnson; Grands: Bri Magnuson, Brock (Stephanie) Magnuson, Betsy (Darrik) Trudell, Tyler Vig, Noah (Laura Jossund) Johnson, and Claire Johnson. Great-grands: Reagan, Grant, Harrison, and Eisenhower Trudell, and Penelope Magnuson. Addie also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, along with their families.

Addie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Kelly Vig, siblings: Dave Neubauer, Eleanor Neubauer, Ed “Butch” Beck, and Mabel Buhler; sisters-in-law: Shirley Neubauer, Carol Samuelson, Agnes Beck, Eunice Ness, and Betty Krause; brothers-in-law: Frank Arsenault and Bill Buhler.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Camp Metigoshe, or charity of your choice. A service celebrating Addie’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 7 at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Mohall in the Spring. Livestream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.-
