Barbara Nies Zoller

Barbara Ann Zoller, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sandford Hospital in Bismack on August 8, 2025. Per request, no funeral will take place, however a Celebration of Life will be planned at a date to be determined.

Barbara Ann "Barb" was born on April 26, 1962, to Arlene (Hummel) and Earle Jewell. She was the beloved younger sister of Timothy, whom she admired and loved with all her heart. Barb's childhood was filled with piano lessons, adventures in Brownies and Girl Scouts, ice skating, roller skating, horseback riding, neighborhood football games, and fierce foosball matches. She attended Richholt Elementary, Simile Junior High and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1980.

Barb was blessed with a hint of Irish stubbornness and a heart of warmth, which turned many strangers into lifelong friends whom she loved unconditionally. She worked at Village Inn Pizza Parlor and then the Bismarck Tribune for much of her adult life.

Barb's adventures took her to Coleharbor for cherished visits with her grandparents and memorable trips to Seattle, Washington, to spend time with relatives. Music was woven into much of her life, and she enjoyed attending many concerts, especially if they were classic rock.

She also inherited a talent for baking, cooking, and nurturing beautiful flowers and plants from her mother, Arlene.

Barb was swept off her feet by Patrick Nies and they were married on June 22, 1991, Together, they built a loving home with Pat's son, Elijah, and their sons Zachary and Tyler. Barb's greatest pride and joy was being a mom. She cherished every moment with the boys, whether swimming. spending time outdoors, or simply being together. She and Pat shared a passion for the open road, riding their Harley Davidsons whenever the opportunity arose.

Barbara Ann is survived by son, Tyler, granddaughter Hailey Zoller, aunts, cousins and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in the death by her parents, husband Pat, sons Corporal Elijah and Zachary, brother Tim and close friend Monica Chase.
