Candace Jo (Weber) Frohlich, 62, passed from her earthly life into her eternal one on January 27, 2026.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1pm on Friday, February 20th at Bismarck Baptist Church. There will be a time of visitation preceding the service at 12pm, as well as a time for refreshments, treats and fellowship following the service.
Candace was born March 20, 1963, the second daughter to Bernie and Clara Weber, in New Rockford, ND. She was raised and educated in New Rockford until she graduated in 1981, with honors. Her small-town childhood in rural North Dakota gave her a profound love and admiration for God’s beautiful handiwork in creation. She never failed to stop and marvel at the simple beauties in nature. Her eyes were especially caught by the abandoned farmhouses set amidst vast prairies, reminding her of the time spent at her own grandparent’s farm, which was one of her most treasured childhood memories. If you knew Candace in her younger years, you probably remember her giftedness in many things including writing, editing, speech, band, and singing in choir. She was an avid reader, loved her time working at the local movie theater, and always dressed to impress. New Rockford also brought her a best friend, Suzie (Jury) Wobbema, who remained her best friend until the end.
After graduating, Candace finished some college at UND in Grand Forks and then moved around the Midwest until she landed in Bismarck. There, she met and married Bob Frohlich in 1989 and they remained married until 2004. During their marriage, they welcomed two beautiful children: their son, Eric, in 1991 and their daughter, Alicia, in 1994. Candace often boasted of her “perfect family” because God had given her her heart’s desire of having a boy, and then a girl. They know her deep love and pride for them every day of their lives.
Candace mostly worked in medical coding at various clinics and hospitals until her increasing health issues caused her to stop working and go on disability. She was highly intelligent, loved to learn, and was uniquely fascinated with studying history, especially relating to her German Russian ancestry. The days of her life were filled with many things she loved: flower-gardening, reading all kinds of books, going to the movies, shopping and book clubs with friends, driving around with no destination in mind, jamming to a cranked up radio, enjoying a chai latte, chatting and making friends with strangers, curating a special collection of heirlooms, and spending time with her family, especially her four precious grandchildren who knew her as “nana”.
Candace found beauty in everything, and everyone saw beauty in her. She was pure-hearted, bright with positivity, and sincere in love, perfectly living out the meaning of her name and her identity as a new creation in Christ. She endured much suffering on this earth but always rejoiced in how it was used by God to bring her to Himself. It was through her long years of health struggles that she put all her hope and faith in Christ, never letting bitterness take its hold. Her life was a bright light of faith in a better life to come. We trust she is living in that glorious life in God now, as He has saved and kept her by His grace, through faith. What a good and faithful Savior she loved and trusted!
Candace is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Erna Koenig; Gottfred and Lydia Weber; brother-in-law, Ron Dodd.
Candace is deeply loved and missed by her parents, Bernie and Clara Weber; sister, Samantha Dodd; son, Eric Frohlich; daughter, Alicia (Caleb) Rouser; grandchildren, Jethro, Luya, Sevvy and Albie Rouser; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Thank you to all those who cared for Candace over the years of health struggles, especially to the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Sunset, Mandan, who cared for her and loved her in the final years of her life.
If you wish to send flowers to the family in memory of Candace, please have them sent to Bismarck Baptist Church (2211 Laforest Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501) on either Thursday, February 19th (between the hours of 9am-3pm) or Friday, February 20th by 11am.
