Cheryl Triska

Cheryl Triska, 69, passed away peacefully February 8, 2026 at home in Wilton, ND, surrounded by family and lifted in prayer. Her 13-year journey with stage-4 cancer was marked by bravery, leaving an enduring example of strength and inspiration.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 16, at the St. Anne Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Cheryl was born to Richard and Muriel Rasmussen and grew up in Regan, ND. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1974, where she made many lifelong friends and met the love of her life, Jim Triska. She attended the ND State College of Science in Wahpeton where she earned an associate’s degree. In 1978 she married Jim and they spent 47 happy years together and were blessed with two daughters and four grandchildren.

Cheryl made every day count. She loved cooking, gardening, crafting, gift-giving, playing golf with Jim, planning activities with her grandchildren, and spending time with many dear friends from the Bone and Joint Center and her community.

Cheryl’s greatest gift was her ability to take on life with positivity, compassion, and hope. She had an inner strength and peace that served as a guiding light for those around her. She will be remembered for self-sacrifice, her beautiful smile, and the joy she found in loving others. Throughout her life, her kindness and trust in God did not waver.

She is survived by her husband Jim Triska; her mother, Muriel Rasmussen; her daughters, Holly Triska-Dally (Justin Dally), Maggie Triska, and her grandchildren Iris, Mabel, Frankie, and Nico Dally.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Rasmussen and her brother, Lynn Rasmussen.
