Corbin Bertch

February 13, 1980 — March 12, 2026

Corbin Lee Bertch, 46, of Mandan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Bismarck Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Corbin was born on February 13, 1980, in Hettinger, North Dakota, to Jim and Alice Bertch. He grew up the youngest of three children and attended school through eighth grade in Carson before graduating from Bismarck High School in 1998.

After high school, Corbin went to work for Bobcat in Gwinner and later returned to Bismarck. In September 2001, he became a proud and loving father to his son, Traeden.

Corbin eventually decided to pursue self-employment and built a life doing the work he loved. Over the years he ran several businesses, including custom welding, curbing and landscaping, and custom seeding. He was a hardworking man who wasn’t afraid to try something new. In 2003, Corbin began farming with his father and brother, a venture they shared together until his brother’s passing in 2019. After that, Corbin continued the family farming legacy on his own.

In 2018, Corbin met “his person,” Lora, and the two were instantly inseparable. Corbin welcomed her three sons into his life and became a proud role model for each of them. Corbin and Lora were married on October 22, 2024. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless inside jokes. Their wit was perfectly matched, with jokes and one-liners coming fast and easy, but beneath the laughter was a deep and steady bond built on loyalty, trust, and devotion.

Corbin had an unselfish, giving, and fun-loving personality. He would do anything to help a friend or family member and never expected anything in return. There wasn’t much he couldn’t build or fix. As Corbin would often say, he was a “jack of all trades, master of none.” Known for his quick comebacks and sense of humor, every day with Corbin was an adventure. Whether it was motorcycle trips with the “Chieftains,” fishing, hunting, side-by-siding in South Dakota, snowmobiling, spending time in the tractor, pontooning, camping with friends and family, or simply relaxing at home, life was always more fun when Corbin was there.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lora; his son, Traeden Bertch (Kaylee Pfaff); his stepsons, Jace, Jayden, and Dash; his parents, Jim and Alice Bertch; his sister, Chasidy (Jerad) Felchle; his nieces, Abbygail and Taylor Felchle; his nephews, Colton and Cannon Bertch; his mother- and father-in-law, Janelle and Neal Johnson; his brother-in-law, Chad (Jen) Johnson; and his nephews, Jett, Rocco, and Cash Johnson.

Corbin was preceded in death by his brother, Cody Bertch; his maternal and paternal grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles; and his faithful dog, Diezel.

Corbin will be remembered for his generous heart, his humor, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. His presence made every day brighter, and his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. In honor of Corbin the family asks that those attending wear what makes them feel comfortable, just how he would want it.
