Daniel Franks, 39, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, November 25 at the Bismarck Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family encourages people to wear their favorite Broncos gear, or any other Danny approved attire. A luncheon will follow at The Tumbleweed in Lincoln.
Danny was born in Sun Valley, Idaho, to Rick Franks and Diane Sailer. He lived in Challis, Idaho until he was 10 years old. He spent summers and holidays in North Dakota with his mom, Diane, and his stepfather, Terry Sailer. When Danny was 11, he moved to South Jordan, Utah with his father, Rick, and stepmother, Monica.
He went on to attend high school at Bingham High, where he met the love of his life, Allison. Danny was a proud Bingham Miner, where he excelled in wrestling, football, and academics.
Danny graduated high school in 2005 and went on to attend Salt Lake Community College. He then furthered his education at Utah Valley University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business.
After receiving his master’s degree, Danny worked as a service manager at Ryder.
In 2007, he married his high school sweetheart, Allison. They purchased their first home in Saratoga Springs, Utah, where they welcomed their son, Gunner, in 2015.
In 2016, they relocated their family to Denver, Colorado, where Danny continued working for Ryder as a service manager. In 2020, they decided to move to Lincoln, North Dakota to be closer to Terry, Diane, siblings, and extended family. Once they relocated, Danny became a service manager at RDO Equipment in Bismarck.
Danny enjoyed camping, fishing, and coaching Gunner in wrestling and football. He had a great love for sports and the outdoors. He also had a large baseball cap collection-one he could proudly call his own, since no one else could wear them due to the famously big head we all teased him about. Danny was known for always trying to get someone to wrestle him-a true wrestler at heart. He also had a love for tattoos and had many, all which had special meaning to him.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Allison (Fiack) Franks; son, Gunner Franks; parents, Diane (Terry) Sailer and Monica (Smith) Franks; grandparents, Billie (Porter) Miller, Beverly (Franks) Ensley, Hubert Sailer; siblings, Desi (Chad) Eiler, Kelly Franks, T.J. Sailer, Brandon (Brooke) Franks; in-laws, Tim and Tami Flack; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Rick Franks; grandfather, Frank Miller; grandmother, Marilyn Sailer; several great grandparents and many pets he loved so dearly.
