David "Shane" Lunstrum

David “Shane” Lunstrum, died in his home on June 8, 2025, surrounded by his family after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at 7pm CST, on Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 432 N. West St, Hebron ND. Shane was born on January 13, 1962 in Ellensburg WA to Richard and Sharon Lunstrum, the third of six children. Shane grew up in Ellensburg and graduated from high school there in 1980.

On March 2, 1985 Shane married Cherie G. McKee in Ellensburg. They had two sons, Zachary on June 12, 1988, and Sullivan on April 1, 1991.

Shane made his living working in the construction trade. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. Three qualities that drew people to him were his generosity, uniqueness, and sincerity. Everyone who met Shane could not help but notice his cheerful nature, huge smile, and infectious laugh.

Shane is survived by Cherie Lunstrum, his wife of 40 years; sons, Zachary and Sullivan of Hebron ND; granddaughter, Scarlette “Curly” Rose Lunstrum of Hebron; sister, Julie R. McKenzie (Rob) of Ellensburg WA; Eric P. Lunstrum (Jody) of Ellensburg WA; Matthew L. Lunstrum of Yakima WA; sister, Lisa Bitts (Mark) of Sheridan MT; and Angela Preston (Allen) of Hawaii; as well as relatives too numerous to list, all of whom loved Shane dearly.

Shane was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sharon Lunstrum; and his beloved golden retriever, Harley. He is survived by his faithful dachshund, Kielbasa.

Shane was comforted and found great endurance in God’s future promises of no more death and no more pain. We anticipate welcoming him back to the paradise here on earth, promised in Revelation 21:4.
