David Thomas

David Alan Thomas, 74, died February 10, 2026 at Sanford hospital in Bismarck, ND.

He was born March 11, 1951, in Minot, North Dakota the son of Lewis and Lillian (Husfloen) Thomas. Growing up in Mankato, MN; Fargo, ND; and Bismarck, ND.

David graduated from Bismarck High School with the Class of 1969. He worked with the Iron Workers, Boiler Makers, and various construction jobs.

He married Fran Wagner in 1973 and they settled in Bismarck, North Dakota. They had two sons, Brian and Jason Thomas.

David loved fishing and hunting. One of his proudest catches was a 32lb Northern that he has on his wall. He was an absolute dog lover having many over the years. While he didn’t have a dog recently, he absolutely loved his grand-dog Daisy.

David survived by his sons, Jason (Kristina) and Brian Thomas; three grandchildren, Taya Thomas, Hailley Thomas, and Evan (Sarah) Jahner; great-grandchildren, Zion and Kinslee Thomas and Kai Jahner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lillian (Husfloen) Thomas and grand daughter, Allayna Thomas.

A remembrance service will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday February 12 at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be 10 am Friday, February 13th at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
