Dennis Duffield

Dennis Duffield, 78, passed away on January 19, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 AM at Church of Ascension. Visitation will be held Friday, January 23 from 5-7 PM with a rosary/prayer service at 7:00 PM at Church of Ascension.

Dennis Michael Duffield was born June 2, 1947 in Baker, Montana to Merritt and Bonita (Braun) Duffield. He attended Fertile Prarie Country School and graduated from Baker High School. Shortly after graduating high school, he entered the US Air Force and served 18 months in Vietnam with an Honorable Discharge in 1968.

Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Paula Stenglein, in 1969. To this union three sons were born: Jeff, Shawn and Ryan.

He was the manager of Singer Sewing Center in Fargo for several years before moving to Bismarck as the manager of Singer Sewing Center. After leaving the retail business, Dennis worked for Allied Moving and Storage, Exide, J-Mar Trucking and Bismarck Aero Center.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Paula Duffield; sons, Jeff (Stacy), Shawn (Amy), Ryan; grandchildren, Jace (Samantha) Duffield, Brenan (Mollee) Duffield, Cory Ann Duffield, Merritt Duffield, Paige Duffield; sister, Linda (Dave) Knudtson; brothers, Merritt, John (Kaye) and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merritt and Bonita Duffield; brothers, Keith, Kenny, Douglas, William; sisters, Pamela, Sharon Kovachich and Amy Ruggles.

In lieu of plants and flowers memorials preferred to the Wounded Warriors Project or Church of Ascension.
