Derek Kolb

Derek Kolb, 45, Mandan, died unexpectedly on October 22, 2024. A funeral service will be on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Bismarck Funeral Home at 7:00 PM. Family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the service. 

Derek was born on November 30, 1978, in South Dakota. He was raised by his grandparents, Carl and Genaveve Kolb, with the help of his uncle Tom.

He grew up in South Dakota and at the age of 16 moved to Bismarck, where he graduated from Century High School. He worked various jobs and up until his passing, worked for the union iron workers. 

Derek enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on his boat, riding his motorcycle and his most favorite of all, spending time with his 3 beautiful kids: Adreanna, 13, Genaveve, 7, and Skylar, 5.

He is survived by children, Adreanna, Genaveve and Skylar; uncle, Tommy Kolb. 

Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Genaveve Kolb.
