Diana Lea Wagner

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Lea Wagner, a beacon of selflessness and gentleness, on May 17, 2025. Born on October 17, 1977, in Tioga, ND, Diana's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Time of Sharing at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Diana’s early years were spent across several communities, where she left her mark through both academics and extracurriculars. She began elementary school in Williston, ND, continued through middle school in Gonzales, TX, and graduated from high school in Dickinson, ND. During her school years, she expressed her musical talents by playing the tuba and clarinet and was an enthusiastic member of the marching band. Her lively spirit also shone through her participation in dance and cheerleading, reflecting her love for movement, music, and connection.

Diana united in marriage with Shad Wagner on April 15, 2000, in Dickinson, ND. Together, they built their lives and homes in Minneapolis, Fargo, and eventually settled in Watford City. Their greatest joys were their beloved daughters, Skyy and Savanna.

In March 2009, Diana began her life-long career at First International Bank and Trust, where she recently celebrated 16 dedicated years. Diana brought excellence, grace, and unmatched devotion to her work leaving an indelible mark on the bank. She found immense pride and joy in her role, but even more so in the relationships she built—colleagues who became a second family and a workplace that became a second home. Her presence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many.

Outside of her professional life, Diana found joy in the simple and meaningful moments that brought warmth to those around her. She was a masterful pie baker, known for her beautifully detailed designs and famously flaky crusts—each pie a labor of love and a gift to those fortunate enough to enjoy them. Her creativity extended to crocheting, where she lovingly crafted washcloths, blankets, and shawls, each stitch infused with care and thoughtfulness. At home, she was never far from the side of her loyal Boston Terrier, Douglas, who would curl up beside her on the couch, offering his quiet companionship and comfort. Diana also embraced life’s adventures—she had a deep love for music and live concerts, camping trips, pontoon rides on the river, cherished weekends at the family’s lake place, and traveling to new places. Though always up for the next experience, she remained grounded in what mattered most: being fully present for the people she loved.

To know Diana was to know kindness in its purest form. She would give you the shirt off her back—and then gently ask if you were warm enough. Her love was steady, her spirit calm, her generosity boundless. She was the person you could count on without question, the friend who listened deeply and never judged, the mother who gave endlessly, and the soul who gave more than she ever took.

Diana is survived by her daughters, Skyy (Cole Blazek) and Savanna Wagner (Bismarck); special friend, Garrett Woodruff (Bismarck); parents, Kevin and Julie Eide (Williston); brothers, Jeremy Eide (Williston) and Marshall (Suji) Eide (Kanagawa, Japan); and sister, Dena (Lyle) Gudmunsen (Broken Arrow, OK).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shad (2013); her maternal grandparents, Einar & Ruth Erlandsen; and paternal grandparents, Bud & Donna Eide.

Diana’s legacy is not only written in the memories she leaves behind but also in the warmth, gentleness, and love she gave so freely which will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
