Donald "Don" Price, Jr.

Donald “Don” Albert Price Jr., of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on February 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a 3-year courageous battle with cancer. He was 81. 

Don was born on March 13, 1944, in Sidney, Montana, to Donald and Lila Price. He grew up with strong Midwestern values that shaped the man he became - steady, hardworking, and devoted to family. He graduated from Savage High School in 1962 and, answering a call to serve, enlisted in the Army National Guard in Sidney in 1964.

 It was love at first sight when Don met Linda Prevost. Their love story began simply and endured beautifully; they were married on May 24, 1969. Together, they embarked on life’s grand adventure and built not only a home, but a family rooted in love, resilience, and togetherness. 

Don was a homebuilder by trade and by heart. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly, taking pride in honest labor and craftsmanship. He passed those values on to his children, teaching them the importance of dedication, perseverance, and doing things the right way - lessons that will endure for generations. He lived by a simple motto: “Don’t worry about the things you can’t control.” 

He was the proud father of Jeff (Zanthia) Price, Brian Price, Jennifer Walz, Brenda Jones, Steven Price, all of Bismarck, North Dakota; Sara (Justin) Fox of Savage, Minnesota; and Missy Bell of Belgrade, Montana, from a previous relationship. His greatest joy came from his family, which grew to include 17 grandchildren and three great-grandsons, each of whom held a special place in his heart. 

Don enjoyed playing softball, boating, camping, and hunting with his sons and friends. Yet, no pastime ever meant more to him than simply being surrounded by his family - playing cards, laughter, and the quiet moments that make a life rich and meaningful.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Lila Price, and his sister-in-law, Kay Price. 

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Sheryll (Dorothy) Price, Jerry Price, Arlen (Lonnie) Price, and Vernette (Ron) Barone; and many extended family members and friends. 

Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a skilled craftsman, and a man whose strength was matched only by his kindness. His legacy lives on in the homes he built, the family he cherished, and the values he instilled in all who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 14 at 10:00 AM at Church of Corpus Christi. Visitation will be Friday, February 13 at Bismarck Funeral Home from 6-8pm with a vigil at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
