Hilda Julia Hruby , Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2021 at the age of 100.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck. Go to Bismarck Funeral Homes Facebook Page to view the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Hilda will be laid to rest with her husband at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Hilda was born on November 4, 1920 to Nicholas and Pauline (Glasser) Stumpf in Richardton, ND. Hilda married Harry Hruby in February of 1947 in Seattle, WA. This is where Marlys and Gary were born before moving to Bismarck and expanding their family with Judy.
Hilda resided at Mandan Edgewood Assisted Living from March 2015 to January 2019 when she moved to the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck. Hilda was a generous, wonderful, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with a big love-filled heart. She was a caretaker to many. Over the years she enjoyed raising her children, babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren; always sharing her love of dancing and old-time music with them. Her faith in her Lord and her family meant everything to her.
Hilda is survived by her children, Marlys (Paul) Coughlin, Gary (Nancy) Hruby, and Judy (Terry) Meyer; grandchildren, Brett (Dawn) Jochim, Daphne (Wiley) Pfleiger, Brooke (Michael) Steffes, Travis (Amy) Meyer, Beck (Kristi) Hruby, Tyler (Ashley) Hruby, Erik Hruby, Russell Mahlmeister, and Jennifer (John) Laframbois; great-grandchildren, Madison Jochim, Mason Jochim, Shelby (Sean) McClain, Macy Pfleiger, Brittin Meyer, Cade Hruby, Hayden Hruby, Gage Hruby, Aurora Mahlmeister, Peyton Laframbois, and Kaisley Laframbois, sisters-in-law, Agnes Stumpf and Marjorie Hruby; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene (Frances), Joseph (Ruth), John, Frank (Betty); sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor (Jake) Zimmerman, Pauline (Delphin) Smith, Rosemary Hruby, and Ann (Tony) Hager and seven nieces and nephews.
The family of Hilda wishes to express their thanks and greatest appreciation to ALL staff at the Baptist Health Care Center for the compassionate and loving care of our mother the last two years and to Chaplain Merle Hoots for his visits, prayers, and words of comfort.
