James "Keith" Soiseth

James “Keith” Soiseth, 91, of Bismarck, passed away on August 8, 2026 in a Bismarck Care Center. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Charity Lutheran Church with Rev. Emmanuel Jackson officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Keith was born on Feb. 14, 1935 to John and Margaret (Opsal) Soiseth in Williston, ND. He joined the U.S. Marines and received the National Defense Service medal and Sharp Shooter Badge M-1 Rifle and was stationed in Korea.

Keith started the feeder calf show and was instrumental in the Cattle Weighing Association. He held a leadership position with the 4H Rodeo and thoroughly enjoyed this role. He held various workshops in the farming community and was a planner/coordinator for the ND Centennial Trailride. Keith was awarded the National Award of the Association of County Agricultural Agents and retired at the age of 57.

He enjoyed the following hobbies with his family: camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, rodeos, caring for livestock, reading, woodworking, watching westerns, being outdoors and spending time dancing with the love of his life, Delores.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delores; 3 daughters, Darla (Arnie) Charging, Dawn (Mike) Wyllie and Glendine Soiseth; 2 sons, Chad Soiseth and Kevin (Danelle) Soiseth; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David and Lynn; sister, Marilyn Boraas; brother-in-law, Jerry Amundson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John C and Margaret Soiseth; brother, Dick Soiseth; sister, Mary Amundson; brother-in-law, Sherman Boraas; sisters-in-law, Deanna Soiseth and Gladys Soiseth and great-grandson, Wyatt Vetter.
