Jamie Peshek

Jamie Peshek, 45, of Bismarck, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Inspire Family Fellowship, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Jamie Ellen (Stein) Peshek was born on January 19, 1979, to Ken and Gail (Gunderson) Stein in Garrison, ND. When she was two years old, the family moved to Bismarck where she spent the rest of her childhood and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1997.

As a child, Jamie loved spending time with family, especially hanging out with her cousins and camping with her parents and her brother, Corey. She also enjoyed gymnastics and participating in Girl Scouts. From her earliest years, Jamie loved playing with dolls, it was the start of a lifetime devoted to loving and caring for children.

After high school, Jamie went on to college at NDSU completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from Medcenter One College of Nursing. After becoming an RN, she started her nursing career on the pediatric floor at St. Alexius Medical Center. She went back to college to complete her master’s degree, and in 2020, she started working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Sanford Health. Throughout college and her career, she made lifelong friends with coworkers and patients. She was a mentor to many, and her calm under pressure demeanor made her a welcome sight to many during high stress situations.

One of Jamie’s special skills was the ability to give a gift. Her gifts were always thoughtful and well planned. It would be a gift that would be heartfelt and important to make you know that you mattered. There was no big production, just a quiet, “here ya go, I was thinking of you”.

Jamie got her love for the NDSU football team from her dad. She attended many games with him at the Fargodome, and even a few trips to Frisco, TX to watch the Bison win the National Championship. Jamie also enjoyed curling and spent several years sliding that rock on the ice. She always looked forward to watching the Winter Olympics, especially when curling was the main event.

In 2007, Jamie met her husband, Josh Peshek, and in 2009 they were married. In 2014 they welcomed their first son, Rylan, and in 2016, they welcomed their second son, Brenner. Those two boys gave Jamie the job she always dreamed of, being a mom. To describe Jamie as a mom would be best described as when knowledge of children and fierce, incredible love collide. Her boys are her everything and she did all she could to make them feel safe, happy, and loved.

Jamie is survived by her husband, Josh; sons, Rylan (10) and Brenner (8); brother, Corey (Marissa) Stein; and her mother, Gail Stein.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ken Stein.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to everyone who offered support over the past year, especially Jamie’s coworkers at the Sanford Children’s Clinic and Josh’s coworkers at the Bismarck Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in loving memory of Jamie to the Sanford Health Foundation | Give for Children, at https://www.sanfordhealthfoundation.org/our-priorities/childrens/ or the Bismarck Cancer Center at https://www.bismarckcancercenter.com/donate-today/
