Janice Couvier Dekrey

Mom went home to be with Jesus from Artis Senior Living in Woodbury, MN. She was the daughter of Robert and Amalia Hirschkorn and was born and lived on a farm near Harvey, ND. She married Richard Couvier on November 23, 1963, and they made their home in Bismarck, ND, until Richard’s passing in April 1999. She married Philip DeKrey on February 14, 2004. They built and lived in a new home in Bismarck until Phil’s death in March 2005.

Mom was a devoted wife and mother who loved and trusted Jesus as her LORD and Savior. She had a nurturing spirit. She was happiest taking care of her family, her garden, and animals. She also had a penchant for chatting on the phone and anything pink or red.

Mom was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Couvier and her second husband, Philip DeKrey, her parents, and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her children: Jocelyn (Chuck) McDonald of MN and Jason (Jen) Couvier of TX; grandchildren, Nathan and Caleb McDonald and Jorden and Cayden Couvier. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Adeline Heutmaker and Mary Ann (Dan) Ripplinger and numerous nieces and nephews.
