Janice Steinwand

Janice Steinwand, 85, Bismarck passed away at home Saturday, August 16, 2025. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Janice was born January 29, 1940, in Bismarck to Albert and Lydia (Graf) Bossert. She was raised on the south Patterson ranch north of Sterling, with her sister and brothers Audrey Ellis, Dwayne, Jerry & Lyle.

She was educated in a one room schoolhouse through the eighth grade located near the ranch, graduated from Wing High School. She was a waitress, sold Tupper ware, Avon. She was a CNA at Bismarck Baptist Home.

Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, fishing & spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Del, her children Wanda (Tom) Haugen, Mark (Lee Ann) Steinwand, Brother Lyle (Zandra) Bossert. Grandchildren Tyler (Stephanie) Steinwand, Dylan (Chrissy) Haugen, Camden (Jaime) Haugen, great-grandchildren. Emma, Alice, Aubrey, Jace, Logan, & Frankie. Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Dennis (Kris) Steinwand, Sisters-in-law Diane Bossert, & Donna Weigel, & several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Lydia, sister Audrey, two brothers, Dwayne & Jerry. Brother -in-law Stanley, Father & Mother-in-law Fred (Bertha), & many aunts & uncles.

We would like to thank CHI Hospice for their great care of Janice & her family. They were Angels from Heaven.
