Jim Linabitz, 84, passed away on August 20, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 AM at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Jim Linabitz was born in Hebron ND on September 28,1940 to Nick and Virginia Linabitz. He grew up on a farm 3 1/2 miles southwest of Hebron. His playmates were farm animals, so adapting to school was difficult for him. His proudest achievement in grade school was winning the spelling bee in the 7th grade. He graduated from Hebron high school in 1958.

He started work at the Super Value store in Hebron after graduating.

On June 17th, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart Betty Giese. They were married 52 years until she passed away on October 29, 2012. They had 2 children, Pam and Tim. Tim passed away at 9 months old from SIDS.

In 1962, they moved to Mandan where he started work at Bills Super Value. He continued to work there until he retired in 2005.

He liked to travel, and they traveled extensively in the U.S. including 2 trips to Hawaii. He always had a joke to tell. He loved the Lord and his family. He was a friend to everyone he met. Jim was very active in his church, Bethel Assembly where he sometimes got to preach and share God’s word.

Jim loved his family very much. His son-in-law, Ron, granddaughter Nicole, grandson-in-law Justin and his great-granddaughter Lydia were very special to him.

He is now reunited with his wife and son in heaven. He will be greatly missed.
