Judith (Judy) Kay Wittmier, 84, of Bismarck, North Dakota, went to be with her Lord on December 8, 2025. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, eldest child of the late Franklin Witthun and Ruth Krook.
Judy graduated summa cum laude from University of Mary, Bismarck with degrees in business administration and accounting in 1985. She worked for several medical service businesses including as director of the Bismarck Cancer Center and Central Dakota Radiology in Bismarck and was dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities.
Judy loved bible study, archeology, reading, singing, sewing, and cherishing time with her family. She taught bible studies and Sunday School. Judy was known to devour books in a single sitting. She discovered her gift of singing when she was an 8-year-old child in church and used this talent to lead both adult and children’s choirs and the Bismarck Sweet Adelines. She loved sewing and made special quilts for each of her grandchildren.
Relationships were the most important thing in her life, first with Christ, and then her family and friends and her PEO sisters. Judy’s love for her husband, Ron, was one of the great joys and anchors of her life. From their early days of their marriage to their later years together, she delighted in being his partner, encourager, and best friend. She often spoke with gratitude about the life they built side by side, and she thanked God for the gift of a husband who loved her so faithfully. Judy’s devotion to Ron was steady, gentle, and unwavering. Their marriage was a living picture of the love and commitment she so deeply believed in, and the bond they shared remains a treasured example for their family.
She was known for her capacity to love, thanking God for giving her a heart and mind large enough to encompass that family that she was given. She would let her children know that they were her greatest achievement, and she loved to tell anyone who would listen about the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
A phrase we all heard often from her was “Oh, well”, and it summed up her unflappable attitude.
Judy is survived and missed by her loving husband, Ron, their children, Lisa (Jeff), Christopher, Daniel (Dana), Robin (Justin), and Rhonda; her grandchildren: Anna, Elinor, Brandon, Austin, Justin, Reed, MacKenzie, McKayla, Ireland, Sierra, Wyatt, Sydney, Marshall, Cody, Kari, Kori, Shawn, and Taryn; many great grandchildren; her brothers, Frank (Susan), Dennis (Jeannie), and Scott (Mickey), and her nieces and nephews.
Please join us celebrating her life First Baptist Church, Bismarck, ND at 11:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2025. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
