Kevin Niemeyer, 62, of Bismarck, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 14, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Kevin, son of Henry and Leona Niemeyer, was born August 11, 1963, in Glendive, Montana. He grew up and attended Dawson County High School, graduating in 1981. After high school, Kevin held various jobs including Crisafulli Pumps in Glendive, MT and Dakota Fence out of Bismarck, ND before attending college at BSC, where he earned a degree in electronics. Kevin was employed with Fireside Office Solutions for 26 years until his retirement in early September of this year. Though his retirement was short, he made the most of it and truly enjoyed every moment.

Kevin was baptized and confirmed in the First Congregational Church in Glendive. Growing up, Kevin enjoyed spending summers on his grandma’s dairy farm, where he worked alongside his uncles. When he wasn’t helping on the farm, he spent a lot of time playing with friends in Glendive, riding his Honda motorcycle, and climbing the hills of Makoshika State Park. He was the youngest of four siblings and loved to tease his older sisters.

In 1984, Kevin met Jolee Keil in Glendive, MT. The two of them were married in Fargo, ND in May of 1990. Kevin was blessed to share 35 years of marriage with the love of his life and best friend. They welcomed two beautiful children into their lives: a daughter, Chelsey and a son, Kyle.

Kevin enjoyed all sports, hunting, fishing, and car racing. He loved fishing in numerous walleye tournaments with his father-in-law, Richard Keil, throughout the years. One of his favorite pastimes with his wife was working in their yard, where together they created and maintained a landscape they were both proud of. He loved watching pheasants and other wildlife roam throughout their yard and always made sure they were well-fed.

Though he had many hobbies he enjoyed, nothing compared to the joy of watching his children grow up. Kevin loved watching Kyle play football in high school and in college, where he never missed a game. He also loved watching Chelsey dance from the time she was a little girl all the way through her high school and college career. He was truly their biggest fan. He enjoyed going on family trips and getting together with relatives at family reunions. Family meant everything to Kevin, and the time spent with them was very special. He also treasured the friendships he built over the years and enjoyed all the fondue nights, fish fries, and gatherings that were filled with laughter and good company.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Jolee; daughter, Chelsey; son, Kyle; his mother, Leona Niemeyer of Long Prairie, MN; his in-laws, Richard and Sherril Keil of Fargo, ND; sisters, Nancy (Terry) Pedersen of Glendive, MT, Sharon (Tom) Neel of Panora, IA, and Gayle Zickuhr of Billings, MT; and sisters-in-law, Janell (Jorge) Montero of Minneapolis, MN, Janae (Calvin) Anderson of Fargo, ND, Jenny (Chad) Marsden of Moorhead, MN. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews: Breanne and Emily Neel, Nick (Kendra and daughter Emily) Zickuhr, and Owen, Gavin, and Kate Marsden. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Kevin will be remembered for his big heart, goofy sense of humor, and the laughter he brought to those who knew him, but most of all for being a loving husband and father.
