Larry “Joe” Sundsbak, 70, of Bismarck, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Bismarck Funeral Home. A Livestream of the Service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page. Family strongly recommends masks be worn.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service and time of sharing at 7:00 PM.

Larry Joseph Sundsbak was born on December 17, 1951, to Lane and Leah (Monson) Sundsbak in Minot, North Dakota.  He grew up in Des Lacs where he graduated from high school in 1969.

In November of 1972 he married Theresia Wangler and together they had two sons, Travis and Chad Sundsbak.  In December of 2006, Joe married Valerie Kuhn.

Joe worked at the Falkirk Mine for 31 years retiring in 2010.  In his pastime he enjoyed golfing, especially with his family and friends.  He loved to watch sports especially the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins.  In the afternoons he would often take a nap with his cat, Virgil.

Joe will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Valerie; sons, Travis (Susan) and Chad (Kristi); stepchildren, Jennifer Schapp and Chris (Allie) Schapp; grandchildren, Kennedy, London, Ryan and Sydney; step grandchildren, Camden, Kiara, Taylor, and Reese; brother, Jack (Gail); and sisters, Karen (Tony) Tudahl and Kelly (Jim) Sundsbak; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresia; his parents; brother, Wade, niece, Jennifer Tudahl, and great niece, Haley Sundsbak.
