Leroy Pegors, 76, of Sterling, passed away at his home on August 5, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, at Bismarck Funeral Home, with Rev. Marlin Sapp officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Sterling Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bismarck Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Leroy was born on October 6, 1948, in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Wilbert and Ida (Gaub) Pegors. He married Joan Oskerson in 1967, and the couple initially made their home in Denver. In 1974, they moved to Sterling, where they raised three children: Eric, Aimee, and Marlyn.
A lifelong farmer, Leroy was known for his versatility and skill, especially in welding. He was a true jack-of-all-trades. He cherished his grandchildren and took great pride in their achievements.
Leroy is survived by his son, Eric (Sarah) Pegors of Fargo; daughter, Aimee (Corey) Swartwout of Minot; grandchildren, Marlee and Lauren Pegors, Ashlee, Hunter (Sarah), Andrew, and Brenna Swartwout; brother, Marlyn; sister, Yvonne; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Kenny and Patty Saylor, and Terrance Lipka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; son, Marlyn; sister, Darlene; brother, Dean; and his parents.
