Linda M. Leuwer, 75, passed away on May 23rd 2025 at her home after a lengthy and courageous struggle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Bismarck Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Linda was born on November 5, 1949, to Albert and Elsie (Jensen) Roeder in Bismarck, ND. She was baptised, raised and educated in Washburn, ND, and graduated from Washburn High School. She married Vincent Leuwer on August 21, 1987.

Linda loved fishing, gardening and entertaining family and friends. Their home was always open to everyone, especially gatherings which included shredding cabbage for sauerkraut, making lefse and kuchen. She loved taking fishing trips to Canada with Vince, going to yard sales and thrift shops.

She is survived by her children Boyd (Melaine) Wahl, Turtle Lake, ND, Vincent Leuwer, Jr., Bismarck, Tracy (Jane Ann) Leuwer, Bismarck, Loren (Tia) Leuwer, Bismarck. Her grandchildren Andrew Wahl, Matthew Wahl, Samantha Stewart, Sasha Leuwer and Annie Sailors. Great grandchildren Kole, Maverick, and John Anthony. A brother, Jeffrey (Karen) Roeder, Cottage Grove, OR; Sharon Hoffer, Mesa AZ; Catherine (Bruce) Hoekstra, Bismarck; Marilyn (Perry) Schuetz, Hill City, SD; Sister-in-Law, Sharon Roeder, Bismarck; and LeNora Folmer, Mandan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elsie Roeder, brothers, Neil Roeder, James Roeder and Wyman Roeder, and one sister, Janice Folmer, and a step grandson, Sean Kennedy.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Linda’s special friends Ron and Janet Flick; Linda’s sister, Catherine Hoekstra, and her stepdaughter, Tracy Leuwer, who all helped Linda remain in her home during her lengthy illness.

Linda found encouragement in the words of Mark Twain: “Drag your thoughts away from your troubles by the ears, by the heels or any other way you can manage it.”
