Margie Magstadt (Nieland, Kendall) of Bismarck, ND peacefully passed away on June 27, 2025 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Margie was born in Bismarck, ND on August 10, 1944 to Allen “Babe” and Stella Kendall and grew up in Moffit, ND. She was one of five children. While growing up in Moffit, she met her first husband Roger Nieland when she was two months old and Roger was two years old. They would reconnect later when Roger moved back to Moffit after graduating high school in Washington state. They got married in August of 1962.
Margie loved being a caretaker, helping friends and family, being a wife, mother, grandmother and even a great grandmother. She had a love for hummingbirds and truly enjoyed being in the truck with Roger driving over the road, seeing so many places, having her grandkids join them at times in the summer, and making memories. They spent many years driving coast to coast.
Margie met her second husband Ervin in 2009 and got married in March of 2010. One of their favorite things to do was go camping in the summers with Tammy and her family as well as spending time with other family and friends making new wonderful memories.
Margie is survived by her husband Ervin; Daughters: Sherri (Jimmy) Stewart, LaShell (Josh) Papineau; Step children: Sharlene (Ken) Opheim, Adelle (Kip) Paul,Tammy (Dale) Adams, Calvin (Fran) Magstadt; Grandchildren: Rocky (Heather) Heid, Shandar Loney, Nash Storrs, Hutch (April) Storrs, Daniel Stewart; Step Grandchildren: Aaron (Chrystal) Opheim, Kara Opheim, Tyler Paul, Sarah (Brennan) Hacker, Issac Adams, Benjamin Magstadt, Nicholas Magstadt; Great Grandchildren: Duncan Loney, Zaydley Storrs, Atticus Storrs; Step Great Grandchildren: Eben Opheim, Wyatt Hacker; Sister-in-laws: Margaret Kendall, Darlene (Willie) Kostenko , many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Margie is preceded in death by her first husband Roger Nieland; Parents: Babe and Stella Kendall; Brothers: Edward Kendall, Roger Kendall; Sisters: Verlyn Bauer, Verna Payne; Grandson: Robert “Rob” Loney; Granddaughter: Bailey Storrs.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025 at Hay Creek Lodge, 1144 College Drive Bismarck, ND at 2:00pm followed by a social gathering at Hay Creek.
