Marion was born in Wishek and was the daughter of Jake and Pauline Thurn. She attended Wishek High School and spent the majority of her working career in the Child Support Department for the State of North Dakota until she retired in 2014.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was passionate about and spent many years volunteering at the Dream Center Bismarck (formerly The Banquet) and always spoke highly of her time there. But of all the things she loved, she loved spending time with her family the most, especially her grandsons and granddaughter.

She is survived by her son, Josh and grandson Jamie; daughter, Jenn (Eric Andrews) grandson Rowan and granddaughter Blair; brothers, Gerold (Marlene) Thurn, Harvey Thurn, Steve (Paula Ellis) Thurn, Darvin Thurn; sister, Lorraine (Jim) Rohrich; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Florian; her parents; mother and father-in-law, Anton and Magdalena Kiefer; brother, John Thurn.
