Marjorie M. Hruby, 100, of Bismarck, formerly of Wilton, passed away November 13, 2025, at Baptist Health and Rehab, Bismarck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Parish, Wilton, ND. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Wilton, ND.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Marjorie was born on August 2, 1925, to Walter and Hazel (Erickson) Leben. She attended both elementary and high school in Wilton Public Schools and graduated from Wilton High School in 1943. Later, she was employed in the accounting department at Montana-Dakota Utilities in Bismarck.

On June 23, 1945, Marjorie married Paul Hruby in Bismarck. Throughout her life, Marjorie was a homemaker and farmed and ranched with her husband and family. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a charter member of Catholic Daughters - Court of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. She also enjoyed serving as treasurer and clerk on the Wilson Township board for many years.

Her family will long remember her gift for bringing people together around the table. She cooked with the traditions of her family’s Ukrainian heritage. Her Pyrohys, Holubtsi, and Spinach Rolls were among their favorites. Holidays at the farm brought everyone together, and her kitchen was the heart of the celebration.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Mary Olson (Everett Nels), Riverdale, ND; Barbara Bartholomay, Enderlin, ND; Kathleen Draper (Dennis), Carlock, IL; her sons: Douglas Hruby (Kathleen), Bismarck, ND; Laurence Hruby (Lori), Beulah, ND; as well as 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Hruby; son, Thomas J. Hruby; daughter, Joan L. Hruby; son-in-law, Martin Bartholomay; siblings: Kenneth, Evelyn Gilbraith, William “Bill,” Howard, Leonard, Grace, and Norman. Marjorie’s grandparents, William and Josephine Leben, and Anthony and Jenny Erickson, also await her in eternal rest.

Memorials are preferred to ND State Veterans Cemetery - Mandan, ND, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery Fund - Wilton, ND, or a charity of personal choice.
