Mary Gene Schultze of Mandan, North Dakota, formerly of Tuttle, North Dakota, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Miller Pointe in Mandan at the age of 89.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be greeting guests one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Mary was born May 29, 1935, Stanley, Wisconsin, to George and Emma Drace.
Later she married the love of her life Ray Schultze of Thorp, Wisconsin.
Mary and Ray had 3 children: Judy, Theodore, and Royce.
She and her family moved to Towner, North Dakota in 1962 where Ray worked as a cheesemaker at Winger Cheese. Mary also worked at Winger Cheese, Hill Drug and Pederson’s Bar while she lived in Towner. She had a fun, sassy attitude about her, and she left a lasting impression on everyone she knew.
In 1977, Mary and her family moved to Tuttle, North Dakota.
Mary was a good wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She made sure her family was always taken care of no matter what. She looked out for everyone and made sure everyone was taken care of, she never let anyone go hungry or without anything if needed, even to people who were not her family
Mary had a vibrant, lively personality and a great sense of humor. And always a great mother and grandmother.
Mary enjoyed a good game of BINGO; she and her friends would load up the car and travel to nearby towns or she’d like to go to the casino occasionally. She liked to crochet, make blankets, bake, play cards and YAHZTEE, dancing and polka music and talking- on the phone. Mary had a super “sleuth” ability to her as well, you could never pull a fast one on her, she was always one step of ahead of everyone.
Mary left a lasting impression on everyone and everywhere she went. She was definitely “one of a kind”. She has given her family especially her children and grandchildren many lasting memories that they will never forget. She will be greatly missed by all.
