Raymond Olson

Raymond “Ole” R. Olson, 74 of Driscoll passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Baptist Health and Rehab, Bismarck, ND.

A graveside service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Driscoll Community Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life and dinner at the Driscoll Community Hall. The gathering will conclude at 9:00 PM.

Raymond was born on November 9, 1951, to Douglas and Beverly Olson in Bismarck, ND. He was raised in rural Driscoll. Ray graduated from Driscoll high school in 1970. He attended technical school in Denver, CO and then began working as a lineman and later as a crane operator on the large electric towers throughout North Dakota and many surrounding states for several years. Ray then returned to Driscoll, North Dakota to do what he always loved, farming. He worked on the Dwight and Dianne Dronen farm and was a contracted rural mail carrier.

Raymond took great pride in helping people and being an active participant in the Driscoll Community. If help was needed, Ray was there, whether it was repairing a lawn mower, serving at the bar, helping Norm at Norm’s Grocery cutting meat, he was there for the community. Ray was a great handyman and available to all. He also took great pride in this garden and loved sharing the plentiful rewards from it.

Lovingly known as Ray, Raym, Raymond, Ole, and a friend to many. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Some people knew him as a man of few words, but a heart of gold. Others knew him as the one you could sit back with while having a cold beer, laugh, and count on him for anything. Ray will be missed by all who knew him. And the old saying is true – “Everybody Loves Raymond”

Raymond is survived by his brother, Wade (Pamela) Olson; niece, Teresa (Shawn) Kershaw; nephews, Tracy (Jenny) Nelson, Stacy (Shauna) Nelson, Jarett Olson (Jessica Powell), Jonathan Olson (Ella Wagener) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Beverly Olson; and his sister, Darcy (Olson) Nelson.
