On Friday, August 8, 2025, Raymond Cliffert Voegele, loving husband and father of five children, passed in peace at the age of 98.
Raymond was born on Sep 19, 1926 in Glen Ullin ND to Fred and Otillie (Schrenk) Voegele. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. He went to school in Minneapolis for refrigeration services and retired from a career at Hill AFB, Utah. On Sep 21, 1952, he married Rose Ruth Kroh. Together they raised two sons, Keith and Kenneth, and three daughters, Beverly, Kimberly and Patricia.
Ray was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was an avid aviator who built and piloted homebuilt aircraft. He was known for his lighthearted storytelling, fun sense of humor, and his ability to look at the bright side of life no matter the circumstance.
Ray is survived by his five children; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Violet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ruth Voegele, nee Kroh; his brothers, Frederick, Floyd, and Vernon; and sister, Bernice.
A funeral service to celebrate his life and legacy will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Bismarck Funeral Home. He will be buried with full military honors at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
