Roberta "Bobbie" Pfennig

Roberta “Bobbie” Pfennig, 88, of Bismarck, ND, passed away on November 29, 2025 in a Bismarck Care Center.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 5th at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND with Pastor Jonathan Walla officiating and Pastor Justin Woodside assisting. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Bismarck. Bobbie was born to Robert and Mathilda (Schoon) Barrows on September 9th, 1937 in Bismarck, ND. She was raised and received her education in Driscoll, North Dakota.

On April 12, 1953, she married her husband of 67 years, Harold Pfennig in Driscoll, ND. They moved to Bismarck where they worked and raised their family.

Bobbie held various jobs throughout her life. Many remember her for the amazing pies she baked at the Roll ‘N Pin Restaurant in Bismarck for several years. She also worked at the Hallmark store in Gateway Mall where she developed many friendships with the customers and staff. Later in life she enjoyed working as a courier for Starion Bank along with her husband, Harold.

Bobbie had a passion for hosting family and friends and serving others. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to have friends and family over for meals and a game (or more) of cards. If you arrived at her house (planned or unannounced), you were always greeted with a smile, cup of coffee and something to eat.

In the final years and days of her life, Bobbie continued to build relationships and friendships with those around her in her daily coffee visits. She had a knack for remembering everyone, getting to know their story and taking a genuine, caring interest in people. If you visited there, chances are she knew you and would greet you when you walked in the door.

Bobbie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends; her son, David (Lori) Pfennig of Bismarck; daughters, Carmen (Dan) Renschler of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Geraldine Scheidt of Kiowa, CO, Karla (Randy) Schellack of Sabin, MN; grandchildren, Carrie (Shane) Berndt, Christopher (Candice) Renschler, Kelly Pfennig, Kristy (Daniel) Neyens, Jenna Hansen, Corey Scheidt, Kendra (Nick) Haagenson, and Adam Schellack; great-grandchildren Jameson, Talia, Maeve, Casey, Chelby and Austin; sister, Rolene (David) Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mathilda Barrows; husband Harold, son, Dean and infant- son Darin; son-in-law Ed Scheidt; and sister, Iris Stenerson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Bethel Lutheran Church, 615 E. Turnpike, Bismarck, ND.
