Samuel was born to Matthew and Arnell von Ruden on December 9 th , 2002 in Bismarck, ND. He came swiftly into the world arriving 2 ½ weeks early and in a very speedy way. If you knew Sam well, then you could probably say that it was one of the few times he was early…for anything or moved swiftly. Sam was employed with Welk Mowing for the summer. He loved the outdoors and used any excuse to be outside. Sam always liked staying active, participating in numerous sports throughout his school years, working out, long boarding, hiking, fishing and other numerous things. He had a passion for riding and working on his motorcycle and driving his Mustang. He had a love and appreciation for classic cars and anything that had power and moved fast.
Samuel will always be remembered for having a warm caring heart, and a down to earth person that left this place way too soon. Already as an infant Sam was selfless, and let his parents sleep 8- 10 hours a night at 2 weeks old and preferred to not be held for too long. Even growing as a child, he was the strong silent type, and never complained or cried much even when in pain, sick, or suffering. He disliked being considered the younger brother, but absolutely loved being a big brother to his little sisters. He was a very mature, smart, wise young man and yet could be such a goofball. He will be remembered for acting as a protector for not only his siblings and mother, but for his friends and even strangers as well. He was always sticking up for someone, and always willing to give a shoulder to lean on and carry the weight. Samuel was a very “Chill” young man, with an “I got this “frame of I mind. One thing Sam said often with confidence to his family and friends was, “I gotchu”, ….and he did.
Sammy will be deeply missed by his Mother, Arnell Mischel; his Father, Jeremy Mischel; a brother, Tristen von Ruden; two sisters, Ava and Ella Mischel; Grandmother, Connie Glasser; Grandparents, Ron and Helen Mischel; Girlfriend, Olivia Sande; and all his Aunts, Uncles, cousins, relatives, friends, and the many unknown lives he has touched.
He was preceded in Death by his Grandparents, Ralph and Janet von Ruden; and Grandfather, Arnold Jordan.
Memorial gathering and release of balloons is provided by Samuels loving friends on July 17, located at the Fox Island Boat Ramp. They will have balloons and markers available starting at 6:15pm and release at 7:00 PM.
