Shayna Christine Eng, 42, Bismarck, suddenly and unexpectedly joined the angels and earned her wings on May 5th, 2025. She was greeted in Heaven by her father and loved ones already passed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday May 14th, 2025, from 5:30-7:30 pm at Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, ND.
Shayna was welcomed into this world on January 13, 1983, by Duane and Beverly (Schmidt) Eng in Bismarck, ND. Growing up between her older brother Jesse and younger sister Kristi made her competitive but loving. She had such an endearing and yet magnetic personality. Her father Duane passed in 1986 when she was just three years old. Beverly then met Richard Breuer in 1990, and he raised Shayna and her siblings as his own.
Shayna was raised and educated in Bismarck, attending Solheim Elementary, Wachter Middle School and Bismarck High School. When she graduated from BHS in 2001, she started her career in Bismarck, ND in a variety of jobs throughout her life. She carried many titles from manager to baker, to barista to chef, where she thrived and loved them all. While she was Catering Director at U of Mary, she met the love of her life Aaron Bank. From that moment on, their time was spent enjoying all of the things they loved, from traveling to camping to cooking. She later joined Aaron and one of his best friends, Bill Moats in Medora as an Event Sous Chef and Bartender.
Most recently she was very proud of her dream job as the Kitchen Manager at the Dream Center in Bismarck, ND. She loved providing excellent, well balanced and tasty meals to anyone that came around. She could devise menu items for 300 people on short notice without hesitation! She never shied away from a difficult job, jumping in to do what was necessary, especially when it came to cooking.
She lit up the room with the most infectious laugh and brightest smile whenever you’d be fortunate enough to see her. She was very proud of her work, coworkers and volunteers as they daily prepared meals for the Dream Center.
As much as she loved her work, the most important parts of her life were her daughters and Aaron. She welcomed Keeley McCrory in September 2007 and Nola Bank in December 2018. She would shine when speaking about her daughters or showing a new picture or video of them.
She enjoyed being there for family and friends, from baking epic cakes to being a shoulder to cry on. Shayna loved to travel, enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors in Medora to hanging out in a hot tub listening for bears along Rock Creek in Red Lodge, MT. She also cherished her time fishing along the Missouri River with Kristi and her bestie, Tif.
She loved all music from 90’s hip hop to classic country to millennial pop, she appreciated all genres.
Shayna will be forever missed by the love of her life, Aaron Bank; her daughters: Keeley McCrory and Nola Bank; her mom and dad, Bev and Richard; one brother: Jesse (Lisa) Eng and their children, Allison, Liam, and Noah; one sister, Kristi Setterlund, and her daughter, Olivia; Aaron’s parents, Mort and Shelly Bank; Aaron’s siblings, Shayna Griffiths; Andee (Scott) Woodmansee; Margaux (Josh) Braun; aunts and uncles: Robert Schmidt, Marilyn (Rod) Rohrer, Evelyn (Lee) Fiedler, William Schmidt & Frank Schmidt, James Schmidt, Susan (Scott) Newhall, Sharon (Don) Hoff, and Ronald Eng; and her best friends: Tiffany (Jason) McGath and their children, Branson, Leena and Rennyn; and Bill Moats.
She was preceded in death by her father, Duane Eng; maternal grandparents, Jacob and Marian (Koch) Schmidt; paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret (Meyer) Eng, paternal great-grandmother Ruth Meyer.
