Stephanie Noble

Stephanie Rose Noble (Groothuis) passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease.

Stephanie was born on July 14th, 1983, in Minot, ND to Toni and Myron Groothuis. She spent her early years in the Minot area and later welcomed her first child, Mykell Rose Noble, in April 2003. From the moment Mykell was born, Stephanie knew her purpose in life was to be a mother.

Stephanie, Mykell, and her then-husband Michael Noble lived in England for a short time before returning to Bismarck, ND in 2004. There, she began a new chapter and met Jesse Wamsley. Together they shared many years, were once married, and later divorced, but their bond brought two more children into her life: James Lee Wamsley, born in May 2006, and Connor Scott Wamsley, born in November 2014.

Determined and resilient, Stephanie earned her GED and later pursued college courses in Social Work. She worked various jobs, including several deli markets, but everything changed when she received the devastating diagnosis of Huntington’s Disease. From that moment on, Stephanie devoted herself entirely to her children. She focused on creating meaningful memories, preparing for their futures, and ensuring they felt her love in every stage of life.

Being a mother was always at the forefront of Stephanie’s heart. She loved her children deeply, fiercely, and without hesitation. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment were raising Mykell, James, and Connor — the three lives she cherished above all else.

Stephanie lived with a fire in her spirit and a brightness that drew people in. She surrounded herself with animals, she loved them all! She adored Jon Bon Jovi, never passed up a good pickle, collected frogs, and always had music playing around her. Reading was her escape, and she loved diving into stories filled with magic, mystery, and vampires. She enjoyed movies that made her laugh or transported her to another world — from the Secret Garden and the Labyrinth to Eddie Murphy and Jim Carrey classics. Her laugh and smile were infectious; in her younger years, she loved to dance! Stephanie’s bold personality, quick wit, and fierce love for the things that brought her joy made her truly one of a kind.

Stephanie will be remembered for her bright spirit, her deep love for her children, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures in life. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, and her memory will remain forever in their hearts.

She is survived by her beloved children — Mykell, James, and Connor — and by her mother, Toni Groothuis. Stephanie also leaves behind her siblings and their children: Charles Weeks (CJ and Maddie), Christi Weeks (Alyssa and McKenzie), and Mindy Groothuis (Emilee, Bella, and Addie). She is also survived by her great-nephews Kory, Brentley, and Koen, and her great-niece Dashlynn. In addition, she leaves her aunt Marla; her aunt Karen and all her children; her uncle Ray; and her cousins Jacqui, Lara, Amber, Kyle and Jacob, along with many other extended relatives who will forever hold her memory close.

She is preceded in death by her father, Myron; her uncles, Doyt and Roy (Jack); and her grandparents, Roy and Lila Trail, and Tom and Margaret Groothuis.

A small family gathering will be held in accordance with Stephanie’s wishes. Following cremation, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
