Steven Duane Evans, 65, of Fargo, passed away June 5, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Pastor Bob Caranicas officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service.
Steven “Steve” was born on February 8, 1960, in Valley City, ND to Norman and Mary (Burmeister) Evans. He was the oldest of five children, and he was always the protective older brother. He graduated from Century High School where he excelled academically.
He enjoyed working on cars with his dad, doing both engine and autobody work. His pride and joy was his 1955 Chevy BelAir, which they proudly built together. He studied automotive technology at Bismarck Junior College. He was also a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and writing poems. For fun, he liked lifting weights, playing billiards, and especially riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle..
Being the protective older brother he was deeply committed to his family. His kind heart shone through his willingness to always put others first. Though he was tall and could appear intimidating, he was truly a gentle "giant teddy bear."
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish his kindness, creativity, and unwavering loyalty.
Steve is survived by his father, Norm Evans; stepmother, Jan; his brother, Mike Evans; his sisters, Vickie (Brian) Volk and Dawn (Dave) Hagerott, half-brother, Josh Evans (Brooke Tollefsrud); and sister-in-law, Rae Evans; nieces and nephews: Kryshel, Shaleah, Vogue, Lexi, Morgen, Gabe, Sawyer, Graham, Chloe, and Aubree.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Werre; his stepfather, Walt Werre; brother, Dan Evans; and grandparents.
