Thelma (Stinky) O. Blohm, 79, Center, ND passed away in Harlingen, Texas on November 15, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Center. Burial will follow at the Center Community Cemetery.
Thelma was born on November 23, 1944 in Minot, ND to Gordon Llewellyn and Fern Hemer. She grew up in Minot with five wonderful siblings. Stinky married Alvin E. Blohm in Minot on October 6, 1960 and they had two children, Sally (Butch) Jons and Wayne (Candice) Blohm. She dedicated most of her life to her family and her community.
Stinky was an avid fisherman, skier, snowmobiler, camper, hunter, crafter and she taught special need kids how to swim. She was a very active member of the American Legion Club (Post 439) in LaFeria, TX. She was the Fire Chief of the Oliver County Fire Protection District, member of the Oliver County Ambulance, Center Community Club, Center Art Club, Center PTO, Center Park Board, matron for the Ward and Oliver County Sheriff’s Departments and life member of the North Dakota Fireman’s Association.
Stinky is united with her parents, Gordon Llewellyn and Fern “Maggie” (Hemer) Brilz; stepfather, Leo Brilz; brother, Gordon Llewellyn; sisters, Agnes (Pewe) Glaser and Donna Korgel; nephews, Boby Jo and Clinton Korgel and niece, Cheryl Demaree.
Those Stinky leaves behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Alvin Blohm; sister, April (David) Demaree; daughter, Sally (Butch) Jons; son, Wayne (Candice) Blohm; three wonderful grandchildren, Travis Jons, Dawn (Matt) Deitz, Jessica Jons; six great grandchildren, Caitlin Jons, Gage Jons, Dominick Isaak, Landon Deitz, Kairi Johnson, Nora Deitz; several nephews and nieces as well as many great nephews and great nieces.
