Yvonne Richter, 89, Bismarck, died October 12th, 2025, at Missouri Slope Care center in Bismarck. Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home. Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Yvonne was born in Linton, ND on January 7, 1936, to Anton and Kathryn Schneider. She was raised in Linton throughout her school years. While in High School Yvonne worked at the café that her parents owned. One day at the café she helped a young gentleman, Clinton. After all the visits and dates, the question was asked and accepted. On October 8th,1955 in Linton, Yvonne and Clinton were married.
Yvonne traveled all over the state with Clinton, due to him working with the telephone company. Through her travels she lived in 6 different cities and raised 5 kids. Yvonne loved to stay busy. If she wasn’t busy with her flower beds she was gardening and then canning the produce. She was an amazing oil painter, loved to play cards with friends, and in her down time you could find her sewing in her room, all different types of clothing, even her daughter’s wedding dresses. Yvonne loved to bowl. On those busy nights of bowling league, no bowling pin was safe when she walked into the bowling alley. Yvonne loved to cook and bake; you never went hungry when you stopped by for a visit. There were always cookies in the Cookie Monster cookie jar or a cake on the counter, the coffee was always hot and ready to drink. You had better be ready to cheer for the Twins during baseball or the Vikings during the football season, or else you wouldn’t hear the end of it. All her activities kept her busy until she moved into Missouri Slope Care Center in February 2021.
While at Missouri Slope Yvonne continued to stay busy, with crafts, church, word finds and even visiting the beauty shop, to make herself look prettier than she already was. This caring, recipe sharing/teaching, giggly and loving lady will be missed by many.
Yvonne is survived by her 5 children: Tim (Sandy), Florida, Nancy (Brian) Jamestown, Kathy (Stuart) Jamestown, Terry (Sheila) Bismarck and Clint Jr (Jody) Bismarck. She had several grand kids and many great grandchildren also. Visiting with her family, children, grandchildren, Tania (Tim), Nancy (Dillion, Danny and Amanda), Kathy (Ryan, Nick, Patty and Travis), Terry (Josh, Travis and Derrick and Tyler) Clinton Jr (Caden). She had many great grandchildren also, Brayton, Tate, Kane, Regan, Skylar, Ashlyn and Ryder and many nieces and nephews. Yvonne’s family was one of her greatest joys in life.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Anton and Kathryn, two sisters, Irene and Phyllis, Husband, Clinton Sr and Grandson, Travis Van Zoest.
